  We offer a range of calmers to help horses prone to nervousness and excitability or to help horses cope with stressful situations. Calmers can help make excitable and nervious horses more relaxed and manageable, and help horses to perform under pressure.  Horse calmers are a combination of minerals, vitamins and herbs to help maintain a healthy nervous system. Many horse calmers contain magnesium, a key mineral known for its calming properties and essential for the nervous system, to maintain a normal calcium:magnesium ratio as this is linked to the production of adrenalin.   We offer a great range of fly repellents to protect horses against flies, midges, gnats and other biting insects. Our range of fly repellents includes sprays and gels to protect your horse from the irritation and painful bites from flies and other flying insects.

• Electrolytes

  Horses cool down their bodies primarily through sweat and through this they lose fluid and electrolytes.  The main electrolytes are sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium and calcium.  It is important that fluid and electrolytes lost are replaced to help speed up recovery after exercise and keep a horse hydrated, and also to avoid poor performance and muscle problems.

  We offer a range of electrolytes which can be added to feed or water to help keep your horse hydrated and performing at its best.

• Sweet Itch

  We sell a range of products and treatments for horses that suffer from sweet itch including sweet itch rugs, feed supplements and lotions.  A protective sweet itch rug can prevent midges from biting the horse, whilst feed supplements designed for horses that suffer from sweet itch promote healthy skin and sweet itch lotions help to treat affected areas.

  Sweet Itch is an allergic reaction to midge bites that causes severe itching to the horse resulting in it rubbing itself against trees, fences, etc and hair loss (most often the mane and top of tail) with red, inflamed, crusted and sore skin that can become thickened, blackened, and wrinkled over time. There is no cure for sweet itch and a horse that has the allergy will suffer from it for life. However, it is possible to manage sweet itch by preventing midge bites.

  Vitamins and minerals are essential for good health, performance, growth and also the immune and reproductive systems in horses.  Often a vitamin or mineral deficiency is not detected until quite severe.  An all round vitamin and mineral supplement can guard against the chances of a deficiency occuring and we offer a range of general vitamin and mineral supplements for horses together with a range of supplements containing specific vitamins and minerals.
