The two main National Hunt Race events in the UK are the Cheltenham Festival meeting and the Grand National meeting.

The Cheltenham Festival is held at Cheltenham Racecourse (considered the centre of National Hunt racing in the UK) over 4 days during the second week of March each year. The Cheltenham festival features 11 Grade 1 races, with the most prestigious race, the Cheltenham Gold Cup, run over 3 miles on the Friday of the Festival.

The Grand National meeting is held at Aintree over 3 days in April each year. The Aintree Grand National meeting features with the infamous Aintree Grand National, run over 4.5 miles on the Saturday of the meeting.
